Barry Baltus
After a strong 2025 season, concluded with a top-3 finish in the Moto2 World Championship, Barry Baltus enters 2026 with renewed ambition. Continuing with the Fantic Racing team, he begins the new year as one of the natural contenders for the world title. With growing experience, consistency, and remarkable progression, the Belgian rider number 7 now targets new victories and the next step in his rise toward the premier class. More than ever, 2026 promises to be a pivotal season in his journey to the top of motorcycle racing.
Born on May 3, 2004, Barry Baltus is a member of the Zelos Black Knights, the Belgian national team of top talents in motorsports. He began making a name for himself on the international scene during his adolescence, participating in two editions of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup (2018-19). At the same time, he represented the Angel Nieto Junior Team in the Moto3 Junior World Championship (CEV), finishing 4th in the 2019 season with one victory and four podiums.
These results allowed the young Belgian talent to enter the Moto3 World Championship in 2020, at just 16 years old. After a season with CarXpert Prüstel GP, Barry Baltus moved up to the next level with the RW Racing GP team in the Moto2 category, which is the step just before MotoGP. There, he continued his learning experience at the highest level, competing for four seasons from 2021 to 2024. He finished seven Grand Prix races in the top 10, including one on the podium in 2nd place in Qatar, marking the best result for a Belgian at this level since 2015.
Barry Baltus is excited: “The hard work and efforts we’ve put in since entering the world championship have paid off with our first podium in 2024. We are happy and proud of this achievement, but now we want more, and I hope to achieve that with Fantic Racing! I am very pleased to join the team starting in 2025, and I will wear their colors proudly. This is an ambitious and top-level team. Their project aligns perfectly with what I want for the next stage of my career. They constantly fight for the top positions, and I am highly motivated to work with them. A big thank you to Fantic, to my management team at Zelos, and to all the sponsors and fans who support us.”
